Mitt Romney wants to collect on Barack Obama’s one-term proposition

Mitt Romney, in his Florida primary victory, says we know how the economy got this way. It got this way, according to Mr. Romney, when Mr. Obama won.

Mr. Romney emphasized his business leadership as leader of the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake and as governor of Massachusetts. According to Mr. Romney, his vision of government is to cut government spending and repeal Obamacare.

Cutting spending is a vision?

One Response to Mitt Romney wants to collect on Barack Obama’s one-term proposition

  1. Kenneth J. Ciszewski says:

The economy “got this way” with a lot of help from many of President Obama’s predecesors..

Cutting government spending has been the “vision” of various GOP types, including the famous Ronald Reagan. What Reagan actually meant when he said he wanted to cut “government waste” (spending), was that he wanted to cut programs he didn’t liike. After all, waste is in the eye of the beholder. Romney probably isn’t much different.

There are things we probably should cut, like foreign aid to regimes that are not really our allies. Spend some of that money on building bigger bombs to annihilate them if they start trouble, or embargo them like is being done to Iran right now. After we took out Bin Laden, we should have destroyed the capital of Pakistan to make the point that those who harbor our enemies are not our friends. Because we are afraid Pakistan has a few nuclear weapons, we shower them with money and tip toe around them. Ridiculous. FInd their stockpiles and rein down the bunker buster bombs on them, then tell the rest of the world that anyone else who pulls such a stunt will suffer the same fate.

I am not in favor of war, but I am tired of the USA being pushed around and threatened, and then we kowtow to countries that aren’t worth the time of day. I am not in favor of the preemptive first strike advocated by the Bush Administration under most circumstances, but I also feel it’s time we quite “playing nice” with our enemies. I believe we have the non-nuclear fire power to destroy any city on this planet in three days or less if we so desire. The “shock and awe” in Bagdhad is only a sample of what we can do. Too often, we don’t have the will to stand up to our enemies. This makes us look weak. If we believed he was such a threat, we should have bombed Saddam’s Hussein’s palace with the biggest bombs we had for two weeks, rather than let it stand. That would have scared the daylights out of most of our enemies–they would have realized we were actually serious.
