Dear Lindsay Graham. If Mr. Obama failed as commander in chief, there would be more than four dead Americans in Benghazi. Not to discount the loss of life or the feelings of the families, but Libya is a hot zone.
The Middle East is dangerous for Americans. The lines are blurred when it comes to who is a target, and Libyans don’t want us there. I expect loss of life, civilian and military.
The loss of life could have been a lot worse in Libya. We overthrew a government in Libya and so far have lost four lives as that country goes through a transition. This president, right or wrong, finished the mission started by your Ronald Reagan in 1986. I have yet to hear any of the Regressives denounce that move.
Personally I believe that we should have stayed out Libya, but the deed is done, so when you look at the outcome, four lives lost in exchange for an overthrow? Pretty good returns.
Yes, it sounds crass, but foreign policy as practiced by the U.S. is dirty business, and if Americans are going to whine about four deaths, they should think twice about supporting aggressive foreign policies.
