Will #Obama acquiesce to political pressure to appoint Rosenworcel as #FCC chair?

The Hill is reporting mounting pressure from Senate Democrats for President Obama to nominate Jessica Rosenworcel as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission.

I see no difference between Commissioner Rosenworcel and Commissioner Clyburn other than Ms. Clyburn’s seniority on the FCC. Clyburn should be given the nod based on meritocracy alone. Ooops. Did I say meritocracy? I forgot this is Washington, DC.  Choosing Ms. Rosenworcel would be a blatant political appoint in the sense that it is supported by so many Democrats it looks like they are calling in a favor.  It would be a shame for Mr. Obama to acquiesce.
