Carpenters don’t owe tools shit….

On 4 July 2017, many people of African descent will validate the flag waving with the decades old argument that “we built this country.” It’s a bullshit argument. Your ancestors slaved for this country. There is a difference. Saying that you built this country is like saying that a hammer built your fucking couch. Slaves were tools; chattel; the lowest form of human capital used to conduct physical labor under brutal conditions. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The irony is the source of this dumb-ass argument. It comes from the black leadership elite who needed a rallying cry to galvanize the masses. With a galvanized electorate, they could go to the political oligarchs and make demands that benefited them first in the form of jobs for them and their descendants. Nepotism is rampant even among the black elite.

So while America celebrates this Tuesday, the black community should partake in a little bloodless revolution by freeing themselves from another bullshit argument. It will allow the collective to seek out policy that creates true empowerment.

Carpenters don’t owe tools shit.
