Every one is a trader of time and as such should be compensated at the end of the day for the time she trades. That the laborer must pay on 1 September up front her costs for shelter, energy, food, etc., while being compensated for the labor energy she expends for that month on its last day represents a Great Misalignment.
The irony is that we pay for a Big Mac before it is even prepared or pay a lawyer a retainer before one ounce of work is conducted, but will push back on paying labor up front or at least at the end of each day…
